Running the Race

So Jeremy and I have decided to train for a 1/2 marathon. We decided that it would be a great opportunity to spend some time together and accomplish something together. The problem, neither one of us really run.....I can do 2 miles in just under 30 min and Jeremy has not ran in awhile....but I have faith we can do it! If I just continue the way I am going I will be able to finish a 1/2 marathon in a mere 3 hours and 25 minutes! :) Oh geez. I wanted to do this mainly because it is something I never thought I could do. I also was doing my daily Bible study and ran across the verses that talked about "finishing the race" and I thought training for a 1/2 marathon would be a lot like how we train to be a Christian.

You may look at your life and think there is no way I can get to where I want to be from where I am now. It takes hard work, sometimes your muscles will be sore and you won't want to continue on, but you have to in order to finish the race. What is better than having your husband right there beside you to encourage you along. So last night I ran my first 2 miles in under 28 minutes...Jeremy sat on the couch and watched me jog on the treadmill.....but it was a start! :) I am excited about this adventure. It may take us a while to train, but it will be fun to do together. And in the end we can cross the finish line and look back on our adventure together knowing we trained hard and because of that we were able to finish the race.
